Cervical cancer can often be found early, and sometimes even prevented, by having regular screening tests. If detected early, cervical cancer is one of the most successfully treatable cancers.

Risk Factors:

Factors you can change:

  • HPV (Human Papillomavirus)

  • Sexual History

  • Smoking

  • Weakened Immune systems

  • Chlamydia Infection

  • Long Term use of oral contraceptives

  • Multiple Full-term pregnancies

  • Economic Status

Factors you cannot change:

  • DES (Diethylstilbestrol)

  • Family history

Factors that might lower your risk:

  • IUD (Intrauterine Device)
